Drew was born and raised on Cape Cod, MA before moving to Northern Wisconsin during high school. In Wisconsin, Drew attended the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point where he worked under the guidance of Prof. Jason D’Acchioli studying inorganic complexes for potential use as catalysts for the water-gas shift reaction. After his time in Wisconsin, Drew joined the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine where he worked under the guidance of Prof. Jenny Yang. Much of his PhD work focused on utilizing thermodynamic principles to achieve selective electrocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide to formate. Drew earned his PhD in 2020 and joined the Miller group where he is studying transition-metal catalyzed carbonylation reactions. In his free time Drew enjoys exploring new places, smothering his cat, eating delicious food, and indulging in the occasional libation.
