Scott graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in chemistry and math from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. At St. Lawrence, Scott worked with Dr. Adam D. Hill on the synthesis of heterobimetallic cobalt/zirconium complexes and materials for artificial photosynthesis. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Scott moved to Nashville, TN where he began graduate school at Vanderbilt University working in the lab of Dr. Nathan D. Schley on the activation of inert sp3 C-H, C-O and C-Si bonds at cationic iridium complexes. Scott joined the Miller lab as a Postdoctoral Researcher in 2021 and is working closely with the NSF Center For Integrated Catalysis. When Scott isn’t in lab he enjoys rock climbing, camping, fishing and playing hockey.
